Float

  • What is your inspiration? What story were you trying to tell?
  • What technical (i.e. camera related) challenges did you face? How did you resolve them?
  • What artist (i.e. creative) challeges did you face? How did you overcome them?
  •

My inspiration for this was originally for a jump but i added the lens flare for the feeling of dodging
i faced lighting challenges i resolved it by changing my ISO to let in less light
I faced no artistic challenges

  1.  My inspiration was that it looked like he was lifting himself. i had no artistic issues. My techical issues included joey photobombing me a few times it was funny though

I had too mucgh darkness for my liking so i messed with the shadows and saturation in photoshop
My inspiration was in the fact that joey was doing a finger pistol motion with his hands.
I had no artistic problems

Creative controls

Part 1: Answer the following questions (Use the demo if you need to to help you find the answers)
  1. Which Aperture makes a wider hole in the lens for light to come through? F/3.5 or F/5.6 =f/5.6
  2. Which Aperture lets more light into the camera to hit the image sensor? F/5.6 or F/11.= f/11
  3. Which Aperture keeps more of the foreground and background in focus? F/3.5 or F/11. = f/3.5
  4. Which Shutter Speed is faster? 1/10 second or 1/200 second.    =1/200 second
  5. Which Shutter Speed keeps the door in the camera open for more time? 1/30 second or 1/125.second. =1/30
  6. Which Shutter Speed is best for stopping action? 1/10 second or 1/200 second.=1/10
Part 2: Post all Photos from your set in order (1-12) Write a short explaination for how the images in each set are different and why.
  1. Set 1: AV mode f2.7, f5.6, f8
  2. Set 2: TV mode 1/10, 1/60, 1/500 PERSON NOT MOVING
  3. Set 3: TV mode 1/10, 1/60, 1/500 PERSON MOVING
  4. Set 4: TV mode 1/10, 1/60, 1/500 PANNING
The AV setting is aperture value which causes  the other settings to be manual except for  aperture

Not moving si the part of the creative project that makes us use different f stops todetermine crispness among other things.

Moving is the part of the project when you and your partner use different shutter speeds capture a moving photo.

Panning is the part of the project creative that we  used a feature on the cameras that let u pan the photos to get a sort of blur depending on the setting.

Part 3: Questions
  1. In your own words, define “Depth of Field"
DOF is how deep the clearness of vision is in a photo
Explain a situation where you would want to use a wide Aperture and what composition style would this help you achieve?
I would use it to capture a wide open field while standing up
Describe two ways different shutter speeds affected your images.
Intentional blurs and sharp and crisp images

Patterns

I like this photo because it is an angle and area of the classroom almost no one normally looks at.
It is best because it is unique from all the other man made  photos Ive taken.

I like this photo because it is unique and clear from my other man made photos.
It is one of my best because it is one of my clearer photos.

I like this photo because the leaf shows a very interesting patter along with an interesting combination of colors. It is one of my best because it is very clear even though we used the cheap cameras.

I like this photo because u can clearly see the pattern. This photo is one of my best due to its great quality.

1:skills that I am doing well are changing camera settings to get a better photo and looking at angles that nobody usually looks at to get unique photos.

2: My goal is to get better acquainted with the uses and settings of cameras.

3: Mr Pedersen can help me by giving a warning when he shows pictures of spiders because i  am EXTREMELY freaked out by spiders... especially close ups which will affect me and my work ethic.

This is a vintage photo. I had no problems while doing this photo. I realy enjoyed doing.this because I got help from some realy nice people who didnt have to help me.This mainly included gradient maps.

This is a sketch type of photo. I received no problems. I thoroughly enjoyed the end result of this looking so naturally  drawn after i was done creating it. the main part of making this was messing with the saturation.

This is a sketch type of photo. I received no problems. I realy enjoyed this because i got to use one of my more favorite photos that im realy proud of. The main ingredient in this was messing with saturation.

This is a  combination of a human and an animal type of photography. I had some problems with lining up the eyes and nose. I overcame these problems by using warp and free transform.

personal composition

R.O.T

The point of interest is the elmo phone.
I placed the main subject on the elmo phone. It is a strong example of R.O.T because it is off a little to the left.
I could improve this by sharpening the image.

The point of interest is the elmo phone.
i placed the subject intentionally to the left. this is a strong example of R.O.T because the phone is off to the left slightly. i can improve this by improving the lighting.

F.T.F

The point of interest in this photo is the grate. I placed the main subject on the middle of this grate.
This is a strong example of F.T.F because it fuills the frame. I can improve this with a fifferent angle.

The point of interes is the elmo phone. I placed the subject on the person with the phone.
This is a strong example of F.T.F because the subject is the main part of the whole picture. I could improve this with cropping.

U.L.E

The point of interest is the middle of this photo.
I placed the main subject in the middle of this photo.
This is a strong example of U.L.E because there are alot of line .I can improve this photo with more lighting.

The point of interest is the wall. Ipl;aced the main subject on the middle of the wall.
This is a strong example of U.L.E because the line is visible as a rut in the rock.
The photo is good no improvements needed.

Composition

Use lines effectively

Fill the Frame

Rule of Thirds

Best

U.L.E

I belive this ULE photo is best out of its 15 because the author used a differant angle than average and he used the curve of the landscape unlike others of its type. The lighting is superb because the sky is not a flare because the author faced away from the sun and used the sun to highlight the landscape instead.

F.T.F
I believe that this photo is the best of its type because its background doesnt draw attention away from the subject and that the lighting doesnt mess with the photos quality. I also like this photo because the background while not drawing attention away also has an interesting pattern.

R.O.T
I belive this photo is better than the other photos because the subject is not too far or too close to the camera. I also find interesting that there can be 2 interesting aspects of this photo for example the abnormal path leadin to the island and the island itself.
